A few weeks ago our kids tried a business venture that failed. Josh needed some quick cash and so he decided that a lemonade stand would help him earn some. He and his dad set up a business plan and I helped him. He only owed me $.04 per cup sold (since I provided the paper cups). The lemons were donated by my aunt and I gladly donated the sugar. Josh squeezed the lemons, added the water, the sugar, and the ice. He did a great job. It was a hot day and the kids all came out to help sell. During the 45 minutes we spent outside in the heat we only had one potential client--a kid on a skateboard announcing to his older companions that he was thirsty. No sale. I was melting so decided it was time to wrap things up. I purchased 4 cups of lemonade for everyone which really wasn't necessary since they had already "taste-tested" but I felt like helping out. This was one of our first homeschool adventures. We learned about supply and demand, marketing techniques, the importance of location, the price is right (or not), making a business plan, and addition/subtraction. We had a good time too. I love these kids!

aw I am sorry they had no other sales, but I am glad you guys had lots of fun.
That's okay. You have to see where we live and you'd laugh at anyone trying to sell anything in the middle of nowhere. You have to make 7 turns before you get to our house. We love it here but it was a good lesson in marketing and location for my son.
